Confident Christians - Growing Churches - Changing Communities
These objectives are at the heart of who we are as Christian people serving God in the world today.
We want to grow this vision for our diocese and we want everyone in our churches to play a part in working out what these three core objectives mean in practice. We are a big diocese, working in lots of different contexts, and everyone will have their own experiences to bring to bear and share with others.
During Lent 2016, we are asking people in every parish to help shape this vision by thinking through together these themes and how together we can help God’s kingdom grow in West Yorkshire and the Dales. All we ask is that you spend some time this Lent thinking and praying about these three core values and then let us know what you think is happening already and what needs to happen next. Download the Letter from Bishop Jonathan, Chair of Diocesan Vision Task Group, outlining more of the thinking behind Confident, Growing, Changing.
We have provided you with some questions to think about for each of the three headings. Once you have completed the course, please both keep this material for future reflection and send a copy of your feedback to the task group in one of the following ways:
You can fill in the Questionnaire on line here.
You can download the Confident, Growing, Changing Booklet in full here or by clicking on the image of the booklet to the right. [Save document to your desktop and print according to your printer instructions].
You can download Additional material for the Lent course here as pdf or below as a Word doc (with thanks to the Revd Richard Steel for his work). This extra material is for those parishes wanting to use the course over the five to six weeks of Lent instead of the suggested three weeks.
You can request more hard copies in the post by emailing: email@example.com

A PRAYER TO USE EACH DAY DURING LENT
Lord, bless us as we seek to follow Jesus here in West Yorkshire and the Dales.
Deepen our faith and give us greater confidence each day.
Inspire us to grow our churches and be beacons of light and love for the people and communities of our diocese.
Help us all to lead our lives, in word and deed, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
