The pre-retirement course below is intended for clergy who are approaching retirement in the next 1–5 years or so. They look at:

personal aspects of retirement such as transition to a new stage of life, self-care, health and spiritual needs
Pre-Retirement Course @ Scargill House
10-12 September 2019
The aim of the conference is to provide information about the transition to retirement covering the very practical matters of health, housing, pension, tax and more. There is also the opportunity to look at ways of developing a positive approach to retirement from full-time ministry and what vocation can mean in this context. Change of role for both clergy and partner, leisure, education, hobbies, ministry and spirituality will also be subjects discussed at the conference. In addition, there will be free confidential professional advice on savings and investments available for those who would like to opt for this.
The cost will be £205.00 per person and £410.00 for a couple. Leeds diocese will pay half of this cost and will take the other half from your CMD grant. This can be paid directly between the diocese and Scargill House. Please tell Scargill House that the diocese will pay – and do not send a cheque.
