It was a colourful occasion at Bradford Cathedral as solicitors, clerks, JPs, High court judges, barristers, circuit and district judges, and members of the legal profession from across Bradford and Keighley gathered in their robes and wigs for the annual Legal Service on February 1st.
A grand procession of legal professionals walked across the precincts of Bradford Cathedral before entering through the West Doors. They were joined by other dignitaries included the Lord-Lieutenant Dr Ingrid Roscoe, the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mike Gibbons, The Lady Mayoress Elizabeth Sharpe, Baroness Margaret Eaton and the High Sheriff, the Hon Mrs Charles Dent.
Preaching at the annual occasion was the Bishop of Bradford, the Rt Rev Toby Howarth, who used his sermon to talk about the Magna Carta, free speech in the light of the Paris atrocities and human rights in a talk that also looked at Biblical perspectives on questions of law and freedom.
