Nativity play by BBC comedy writer performed in Keighley

A NATIVITY play penned by a top comedy writer has been performed at the weekend by children at Keighley Shared Church.

The Donkey, The Cow, The Sheep and The Camel was written by BBC TV and radio script writer James Cary, whose credits include award-winning sitcom Miranda.

Keighley nativityVicar, the Revd Derek Walmsley said, "I linked-up with James through Facebook and last Christmas he kindly offered us his Nativity script but we heard about it too late – so we're doing it this year,"

The Nativity – which took place during the morning service, was produced by Mark Rundle, son of the late Geoffrey Rundle, who wrote and performed with Keighley Amateurs for several decades.
