Charity jigsaw festival in Brighouse for bank holiday

Jigsaw puzzles will fill St. Martin’s Church, Brighouse over the Bank Holiday weekend for the sixth annual Charity Jigsaw Festival and help raise much needed funds for local charities.

Over 1,000 puzzles, comprising over 850,000 individual pieces, have been donated and assembled by many willing people from the local community - some family groups having assembled over 70 puzzles.

During the festival a display of up to 200 made-up jigsaws and up to 100 boxed jigsaws of various makes, types and sizes will fill the body of St. Martin’s Church and as soon as an assembled puzzle is sold another will replace it. There will be puzzles for all tastes - children's puzzles, traditional country scenes, 3D, double-sided, murder mystery, crossword, impossipuzzles, wasgij and mirror image.

Entry will be £2, which includes a £1 discount voucher towards the purchase of a puzzle at the Festival. If you retain your programme you can return as many times as you wish without paying again.

Refreshments will be provided by the “Missing Piece Café” - run by a team from St Martin's - crafts, a raffle (sponsored by local businesses in Brighouse and beyond), a tombola and a Golden Jigsaw Competition.

The Jigsaw Festival runs from Friday 25th August to Monday 28th August from 10am till 5pm, except on Sunday it will open at 12 noon.

Previous Festivals have raised over £40,000 for good causes and this year funds raised will go to: Together for Looked-after Children to enhance the life chances and enable the educational success of Calderdale’s Children in Care; Tanzania's Water for Life Appeal
This Anglican Diocese of Leeds initiative prioritises the provision of clean water supplies to areas of Tanzania and St.Martin’s mission to children in the community

which includes After-school Clubs, a Pre-school Group, school play sessions offering a creative and imaginative approach to Christian nurture, a Weekday church for children and adults involving creativity, celebration and hospitality and several Holiday Clubs, Film Clubs and other activity events each year.
