Training sessions to help clergy and parish officers prepare for the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into effect next month are now taking place.
To help parishes understand what they need to do to ensure that they are collecting and using any data within the requirement of the law a number of sessions led by the Diocesan Registrar Peter Foskett are being offered, starting last Monday.
There are still two opportunities to take part. At Church House, 17-19 York Place, Leeds :
May 14, 2pm to 4pm and 5pm to 7pm, May 15, 7pm to 9pm.
These sessions are being offered in addition to the information available on the Diocesan website: http://www.leeds.anglican.org/GDPR
"We have spread the trainings across the time leading up to the 25th May and hope that you will be able to attend one of the sessions," said Peter.
"We anticipate that demand for places will be high and would therefore ask that you book just one place per parish.
"It is essential that you book to attend so that we can ensure we do not exceed capacity at the venues."
