This summer you are invited to join a series of short pilgrimages through the beautiful countryside which surrounds Ripon. Each pilgrimage will be approximately 6-8 miles and we will stop for refreshments and a packed lunch.
The pilgrimages will start at 10am and there will be lifts available from the West End of the Cathedral from 9.30am. To sign up or to receive details of routes and lifts, please email reverendcatilin [at] riponcathedral.org.uk or ring 07377657391.
17th August — Pilgrimage of Reconciliation
This pilgrimage will start at 10am from Jervaulx Abbey. We will walk through the spectacular scenery of the Dales to the ancient Church of St Oswald which, like Ripon Cathedral, has an Anglo-Saxon foundation. Remembering the Pilgrimage of Grace, of which Jervaulx abbey was a part, and the religious divisions of English history, we will pray for Christian unity and religious tolerance.
