New Year’s Message urges us to look to God as the Good Shepherd

First published on: 3rd January 2023

The Revd Canon Robin Gamble, Bishop’s Advisor for Church Growth in our diocese, has recorded a New Year’s Message to be shared by churches.

Referencing Psalm 23, Robin urges viewers in 2023 to look to God as the Good Shepherd.

The video can be accessed below via YouTube or the video file can be downloaded here.

“At this time of year I often think of the new year as like a great road stretching out before me,” said Robin.

“I have a favourite image which I take from the Bible, which helps me with all my travelling through life. It’s all about me not being alone but having a good shepherd. When the sun's shining and it's brilliant the Shepherd is with me, when the going’s really difficult the Shepherd is there.”

“Maybe the key to a good 2023 is not people wishing us good luck, but you and I looking not to good luck but to the Good Shepherd and walking with him every day, every week, every month.

“Let’s have a good shepherd, good year together.”
