Diocese of Leeds in top ten charity employers in the country

The Diocese of Leeds is honoured to be in the top ten charities to work for in the country, according to the Best Companies league tables.

The league tables, announced today at the Best Companies Live event, placed the diocese at number seven in the charity sector.

The tables also had the diocese placed in the top 30 places to work in the Yorkshire and the Humber region, coming in at number 29.

The diocese also ranked in the top 40 mid-sized companies in the country, reaching 38th place.

Jonathan Wood, Diocesan Secretary, said: “I am thrilled that the hard work of staff has been acknowledged by these prestigious awards.

“All of us who work in the Leeds Diocesan Board of Finance know what a fantastic place it is to work, and it is great that this is now recognised nationally.”

These rankings are the result of employees of the diocese giving a high seal of approval in an internationally-recognised survey of staff engagement and work place satisfaction.

Colleagues at Church House, Leeds and other locations across our region, were invited to help with in-depth research into work relationships, conditions and wellbeing.

The survey was run by Best Companies, whose clients include Vodafone, BT Consumer and Camelot UK.

And at the first attempt, the diocese achieved a high rating of “Very Good,” which is accompanied by a performance indicator of One Star.
