New Book Exploring 'What Jesus Would Post?'

If Jesus had access to the internet what would he post? And, as importantly, what wouldn’t he post? A new book, titled 'What Would Jesus Post', seeks to answer those important questions and explore how Christians should steward their online presence and follow Jesus in this critical area of our 21st century lives. It is written by the Revd David Robertson, vicar at South Ossett near Wakefield, and will be released for purchase on 22nd June.

In a surprisingly short time the internet has become embedded in our culture and become a pivotal part of many peoples lives. Therefore, 'What Would Jesus Post?' seeks to discover which bibical principals inform us of its use. It is a thought-provoking resource for any Christian who engages with the internet. WWJP can be read by individuals; by parents and leaders as a resource to help children and young people; and by church leaders who need a resource to plan a teaching series. Each chapter covers a particular issue, challenge or opportunity, suggests a biblical principle and provides material for discussion, reflection and prayer. Some of issues covered include; dealing with digital gossip; engaging with community; prayer before posting and being stewards of a digital footprint.

The author of the book, the Revd David Robertson, explains his inspiration for the book, "A couple of years ago an online incident led me to look for a resource that would help. I found plenty of books about setting up social media pages and Church websites, but not much that addressed the principles by which Christians could approach online interaction. And… as I talked to others I received an unexpected response: “You should write something!” So I offered the idea to BRF and they commissioned the book."

'What Would Jesus Post?' will be available on 22nd June from most book stores, including BRF Online and Amazon. Revd David has also written a number of other books that can be browsed and purchased at Parbar Publishing.
