Spring Harvest, the annual Christian teaching and worship event, which began in 1979 and attracts tens of thousands of Christians each year including many Anglicans, has announced that it will be held in Harrogate in 2018.
The traditional Butlins venues at Skegness and Minehead will still remain a firm part of the Spring Harvest calendar, but Harrogate will become the third centre for the Easter time event. The Harrogate Spring Harvest will be held from April 3rd to 8th, Easter Week (Easter Sunday in 2018 is April 1).
This Easter, 2017, both Archbishops spoke at Spring Harvest. The Archbishop of Canterbury joined the thousands gathered at the Butlins resort in Minehead while the Archbishop of York spoke at Skegness. Spring Harvest in Harrogate, 2018, will be held at Harrogate International Centre making use of the main conference hall as well as other exhibition halls for the adult, children and youth programmes. Unlike traditional Spring Harvest weeks, tickets will be for the conference only, while accommodation in local hotels, B&Bs or campsites will be booked independently.
Organisers say that bookings will open on June 21 and ‘early bird‘ ticket prices will start at £99 per adult and £79 per child for all six days of the conference.
Steph Osborn, Spring Harvest Programme Coordinator, said “We will be using the Harrogate Convention Centre for the event and are very excited to be coming to such a lovely part of the country.
“We announced this to Spring Harvest guests at Easter this year and we would like to talk to local church leaders as we prepare for the event to make connections. As the year goes on, we hope not only to encourage people to come to the event and get involved as part of our volunteer team, but to ensure that we address some of the issues and needs that are currently being faced.”
