Christ Church Upper Armley CE Primary School gets glowing SIAMS result

One of our Leeds area schools has been described as ‘an oasis of calm, care and love within the community which it diligently serves’ in its recent SIAMS inspection.

Inspectors highlighted the strong Christian values, warm relationships and inclusive ethos that run through every aspect of school life at Christ Church Upper Armley CE Primary School, a member of Abbey Multi Academy Trust.

The recent Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report commends pupils for their behaviour and compassion, noting that ‘pupils consistently show kindness and care towards one another, reflecting a culture where the vision shapes relationships.’

Inspectors were particularly impressed by the way the school’s vision is lived out daily, influencing how pupils treat one another and engage with the wider community.

At the heart of the school’s success, the report adds, are strong relationships built on trust and respect.

Inspectors observed that ‘warm, caring relationships are at the heart of Christ Church Upper Armley,’ creating a safe, nurturing environment where pupils feel valued and supported.

Headteacher Ms Sam Collier said she was immensely proud of the school community and the recognition it has received.

Sam said: “As Headteacher, I couldn’t be prouder of our remarkable staff and children.

“Every day, they live out our vision with compassion, creativity and determination, creating a school where everyone feels valued and able to flourish.

“This report reflects what I see daily: a community full of heart, hope and joy and I feel incredibly privileged to lead it.”

The inspection highlights how the school’s strong leadership, dedicated staff and clear sense of purpose combine to create an environment where pupils thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Parents and carers are also recognised as key partners in school life, contributing to a strong sense of community around the school.

As a member of Abbey Multi Academy Trust, Christ Church Upper Armley CE Primary School continues to play a vital role within its local area, offering stability, care and aspiration for children and families alike, strengthening its reputation as a school where values are not just taught, but lived.
