Diocese of Leeds supports Vocations Sunday on April 26

Vocations Sunday is on Sunday, April 26, and the Diocese of Leeds is supporting the day with resources, an event and a new video.

We have produced a new video with curates in the class of 2025/26, sharing about their vocation and their experience in the first year of their ordained ministry.

The video can be seen below.

Wakefield Cathedral will host a diocesan Vocations Fayre on Wednesday, April 22, offering an open and welcoming space for anyone exploring a call to ministry within the Church of England.

The event brings together representatives from a wide range of Christian ministries, including ordained and lay pathways, chaplaincy, youth and children’s ministry, theological education, spiritual formation, and UKME/Global Majority ministry.

Attendees will have opportunities to take part in guided reflection, hear short themed talks, and engage in one-to-one conversations with people already living out their vocation.

More on this can be read here.

We are also sharing a range of worship resources produced by the Church of England, which are intended to be useful in all contexts where vocations is a focus.

These can be seen here

The Revd Canon Sean Robertshaw, Diocesan Director of Vocations, said: “We are all called into a relationship with God and to be Lights in the World shining out in God’s name.

“This Vocations Sunday, we invite you to take the time to pray and listen to what God is saying to you, to think about where and to whom He is calling you to be a light.”
