Diocese partners with Bubble Church to bring training to our churches

Bubble Church are partnering with the Diocese of Leeds to run a training day in September, helping churches get involved in worship designed for young children and their families.

Bubble Church is a 30-minute Sunday church service especially for babies, toddlers, and young families, including action songs, a Bible story, puppets and a simple activity.

Everyone joins in with Bubble Church, taking part in a relaxed, café-style setting where families sit together at their own ‘bubbles’.

Churches in our diocese are already running Bubble Church services, including St Martin’s Heaton and Mirfield Team Parish.

The Revd Graeme Blackwell, Assistant Curate in Mirfield Team Parish, says of Bubble Church: “It offers a new way for children and parents to experience faith in a welcoming, lively, and engaging setting here in Mirfield — and we’re really excited to be running it.”

Bubble Church and the Diocese of Leeds are running a training day at Wakefield Cathedral on Thursday, September 24 to help churches learn about the service, how best to run it and the resources available to support its running.

Canon Liz Morton, Diocesan Children, Young People and Families Team Leader, said: “We’re really pleased to be partnering with Bubble Church to bring this training to the Diocese of Leeds.

“Bubble Church has a track record of helping churches engage with children and families, and there are churches in our diocese already using the resources.

“Please do sign up for one of the webinars to learn more, and we look forward to seeing lots of people in September!”

Before the training day Bubble Church are running two webinars for churches in our diocese wishing to know more about Bubble Church, what it is, what it looks like and whether it might work in their church.

These are taking place on Tuesday, May 12, 12.30pm – 1.30pm; and Wednesday, June 10, 8pm – 9pm.
