A recent diocesan Vocations Team evening brought people together to hear four honest and inspiring accounts of calling, discernment, formation and ministry.
Louise spoke about giving a year to God through the Ministry Experience Scheme; Daniel reflected on his journey to Licensed Lay Ministry; Bailey shared his experience of discernment and training for ordination at the College of the Resurrection, Mirfield; and Alison described responding to God’s call in midlife and beginning ordained ministry as a curate.
The Revd Canon Sean Robertshaw, Diocesan Director of Vocations, said: “Across their different stories, the speakers encouraged those present to trust the process, notice how God is already at work, and take the next faithful step without feeling they must know the whole journey.
“Their openness, generosity and thoughtful answers to questions showed that God calls people from many backgrounds and at many stages of life.
“Our heartfelt thanks go to Louise, Daniel, Bailey and Alison for sharing their stories, and to St Peter’s Huddersfield for their kind hospitality and warm welcome.”
The evening offered encouragement to everyone exploring where God may be calling them next.
