Your Share Makes a Difference

"Your share makes a difference" is the message for all our churches as a new parish share system is launched in the Diocese with a package of resources and support available to help parishes get to grips with giving.

Every church will soon be receiving its parish share request based on the new system alongside 20 copies of a booklet for PCC members explaining the scheme. This is the culmination of an extensive two years consultation programme with parishes and deaneries throughout the Diocese.

A short film, called Your Share that simply tells the story of how church makes a difference for some our churchgoers is available for parishes to share.

You can watch it here

It is just one tool in a package of resources and support including a PowerPoint presentation on the new Parish Share Scheme that can be used at Deanery Synod, with PCCs and with congregations; Bible study notes and sermon ideas on giving and a Frequently Asked Questions.

The launch of the new parish share comes on the back of a new campaign to encourage generous giving by the Giving and Stewardship team.  Giving for Life: Continuing the Journey is a pack of discussion materials to help parishes review their stewardship and giving patterns.

It redevelops and expands the original Giving for Life report produced by the Archbishops’ Council in 2009 and is being sent out to every PCC in the coming few weeks.

Team members will be available to visit parishes and churches can contact them via sfdadmin@leeds.anglican.org or by calling 0113 353 0221.

If any church wants support and help please contact your Area Dean in the first instance.

Thank you to the congregations of All Hallows, St Chads and St Michaels in Leeds who helped us make the film, Your Share.
