The Diocese of Leeds has published its Statement of Needs, an important milestone in the Vacancy in See process.
The Statement of Needs gives a descriptive overview of our diocese, covering the breadth and depth of our diverse and varied region, and a statement setting out the desired profile and qualities of our new Bishop.
It has been created as part of the work of our Vacancy in See committee, drawing on input from people across the diocese as part of our public consultation, as well as views from other interested parties.
The Rt Revd Toby Howarth, Chair of the diocesan Vacancy in See committee, Bishop of Bradford and Interim Bishop of Leeds, said: “We are really grateful to all who took part in our consultation process and who have fed into the creation of the Statement of Needs.
“This document is one we can all be proud of, reflecting the wonderful diverse nature of our diocese.
“Please do continue to pray for the process of discerning who the next Bishop of Leeds will be, so that God can call the right person here to lead us into the future.”
