Cursillo

Cursillo is a movement of the Church, providing a method which empowers Christians to grow through prayer, study and action and enables them to share God’s love with everyone.

Cursillo offers:

  • An opportunity to grow in faith
  • A way of experiencing Christian Community
  • Help in our spiritual journey and Christian witness

The Cursillo movement began in Spain after the Second World War but has now spread throughout the world. The word 'Cursillo' means 'short course' in Spanish but the weekends and follow up that Cursillo offer is much more than that.

Here are some things people have said after experiencing Cursillo:

"My Cursillo experience was just like upgrading from a standard TV to High Definition. The vision is the same but it is definitely enriched."

"I wholeheartedly commend the Cursillo method to any parish priest who is looking to revitalise the life-blood of their church and community." Revd Mandy Rhodes
