This workshop is for parishes interested to Admitting Children to Communion before Confirmation. This workshop will cover the following:

  • Ensure participants are familiar with the guidelines and application process

  • Identify and discuss resources to support the preparation and ongoing nurture and discipleship of children and young people
  • Determine the next steps to continue the process

Dealing with Challenging Behaviour

What do you do when a young person is being a 'problem'? From talking through your explanations to picking fights with others, disruption can come in many forms, but when we're trying to create a loving, Christian environment, we can find ourselves conflicted about how to respond. This session aims to help you think about causes for, prevention of and responses to challenging behaviour.

Exploring Resources for Engaging with Children, Young People and Families

Are you looking to explore resources for engaging with children, young people and their families? This 90 minutes interactive session will allow you to test out some different resources to see if it might work for your church and the children, young people and families that you engage with. There will be an opportunity to look at different books and types of Bibles too.

Godly Play

Taster sessions where you can learn about (and experience) Godly Play. Godly Play is a way of exploring Bible stories in a creative, measured and imaginative way.  Originally conceived as a way of helping small children learn about and reflect on God’s story, it is now seen as a helpful way for those of all ages to share learning and wonder together.

Neurodiversity and Children’s Ministry

Explore what neurodiversity is, how we can support neurodiverse children and young people within our churches and how neurodiverse children may experience church. We will have some practical ideas and inspiration for how we can nurture relationships with children in our groups and support them as they grow in faith.

Starting up Youth Work

If you are exploring what your church can offer specifically for young people, or even if you're just exploring exploring, this evening session could be for you! Over the course of an hour or so, we want to hear about your journey, share some stories, help you make some plans and invite you to commit to continue planning, including the option of meeting with others to continue the conversation and encouragement. Whether you're starting from scratch or trying to develop from something you've already got, this gathering seeks to be a forum where we can help one another plant seeds and cultivate growth.

Recruiting Volunteers and Building Teams

Are you starting something new and need the people to do it? Or are you looking to grow your team, spread the workload, replace some people who've left? Or maybe you have a team and are looking to develop things further? This session looks to address both of these aspects of team - recruiting and retaining. It's written with a youth slant, but will be relevant to work with children too. Volunteers are wonderful, and their generosity and faithful service keep the church going. The heart of this session is that we can celebrate and learn together, so that all grow.
