Children's Ministry Essentials
Produced by the Children’s Ministry Network (CMN) in collaboration wtih Churches
Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI). This course is aimed at anyone who is volunteering with children in the church or community, and particularly those who wish to grow in confidence, knowledge and ability. The course is made up of nine in-person sessions with films and lots of great content, plus some online learning. It is based upon the three key principles of:
- Knowing the child
- Growing and developing children’s ministry
- Leader development
The modules include topics such as: the world of the child, leadership and teamwork, the role of play in faith formation, and inclusion.
Youthscape Essentials
Youthscape Essentials is a ten-session training programme for those volunteering i
n youth ministry. Each session comprises of three main components:
- An insight into the world of young people
- A youth work skill to develop
- An area of character to cultivate
Sessions last up to two hours and contain a mix of videos, discussions, group activities and reflection, and all those who register for the course will receive a free resource from Youthscape.
We also encourage everyone interested in Youthscape Essentials to complete one of our Ministry with Children and Young People courses.
