Learning Communities

Additional Needs

Are you involved in children’s and youth ministry and do you have children and young people with additional needs as part of your church? Would you appreciate meeting with others who want to welcome, support and include these children and young people and their families? The Additional Needs Learning Community will be a chance to learn from one another, share ideas and wisdom and pray. The Additional Needs Learning Community will gather 3-4 times throughout the year, sometimes online via Zoom and in person to be a source of support and encouragement to all those involved in this valuable ministry.

Employed Children and Youth Workers

Everyone who works/ministers with children, young people and families is deserving of recognition, but the purpose of these gatherings is to recognise the distinct calling and challenges of doing this in a paid capacity.  So whether you are full-time or part-time, whether your job description is broad or specific; if you are employed to work with these parts of our church (or if you are undertaking an internship), these gatherings are for you.

We aim to hold bimonthly gatherings where people can share how things are going and pray for one another, as well as have some input on a particular topic and a time for Q&A. There is also an annual retreat day, to provide a time and space for putting down to-do lists and making sure God is at the heart and head of the agenda.

Growing Faith

Growing Faith is the movement that exists to put children, young people and families instinctively at the heart of all the mission and ministry of the Church by changing the culture of the Church of England. This is done primarily through focusing on reaching children, young people and families in three key places: church, home and school. Research has shown that close links between these three key places leads to greater faith development.

The Growing Faith Learning Community meets approximately every three months to explore the intersections of church, school and home. We will share thoughts, ideas, dreams and research as we each explore what Growing Faith looks like in our own contexts.

Messy Church

The Messy Church Learning Community meets approximately every three months to share best practice, encourage each other and to consider different topics to help development and growth, as we seek to reach people of all ages in our communities with the good news of Jesus.

Toddler Teams

Are you involved in running a church toddler group? Would you appreciate meeting with others who are doing the same thing to learn from one another, share ideas and wisdom and pray for the groups? The Toddler Teams Learning Community will gather 3-4 times throughout the year, sometimes online via Zoom and occasionally in person to be a source of support and encouragement to all those involved in this valuable ministry.
