Lee Finnegan

Hi, I’m Lee. I served in the Army for nearly 10 years until I was medically discharged in 2022. Before I Joined up, I worked as a mechanic fixing black cabs in Liverpool, where I’m originally from. Working in the city taught me a lot about hard work and the importance of helping others.
Right now, I’m studying to become Clergy at St. Hild College in Mirfield and gaining experience by working at Catterick Village Parish. My journey to faith started 15 years ago. I didn’t grow up as a Christian, but when I began searching for God, I realized He was always with me—I just hadn’t noticed. This changed my life and has made me want to serve others. I have very recently taken vows with The Order of The Holy Paraclete at St Hilda's Priory in Whitby. I am part of the York network with the Order, and we come together to pray for our areas and support each other’s ministry.
I’m excited to be starting a new chapter in my ministry as I look forward to serving as Assistant Curate in the Benefice of Bedale. I’m especially looking forward to working alongside Revd Canon Moor and gaining more experience in ministry over the next few years.
I’m a proud husband to my wife, Louise, and together we have three wonderful kids. We love spending time together, and I’m always grateful for my family. I enjoy keeping reptiles, fishing, and watching films in my free time. My family and friends are very dear to me; they have supported me throughout my life, through the battles and blessings, and remain with me moving forward, for which I am very grateful.
