Funding for accessibility projects
The Church of England Disability Project (2024-26) aims to remove barriers that Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people face within the church. As part of the wider project, a Parish Grants Scheme was launched in September 2024.
The Parish Grants Scheme has been divided into two streams; Small projects (up to £5,000) and Large projects (up to £50,000). The Large project funding stream is now closed, but the small stream remains open.
Some examples of eligible projects include:
- Events
 - Hearing loops
 - Sound system improvements
 - Noise cancelling headsets
 - Quiet spaces
 - Improving accessible parking
 - Portable ramps
 - Handrails
 - Seating
 - Signage and noticeboards
 - Training
 - Technology and software
 - Permanent step free access, both internal and external
 - Accessible toilet facilities
 - Accessible kitchen facilities
 - Upgrades to paths and carparks
 - Lifts

For projects to be eligible, accessibility must be the primary focus of the plans, not an ancillary benefit of a wider project.
Applicants should apply by contacting Alena Douglas (alena-rose.douglas@leeds.anglican.org or 0113 3530 274) with an application form.
