Energy Footprinting Tool open for 2024 data

The Church of England’s Energy Footprint Tool (EFT) is open until Monday, June 30 for churches to enter energy use from 2024.

This annual exercise is a key part of the Church of England’s commitment to becoming net zero carbon by 2030.

Filling out the EFT is simple and quick, with the participation of as many churches as possible crucial to its success.

The EFT allows churches to track their energy use, giving valuable insights into how buildings are performing and can aid applications for net zero project funding.

By completing the tool, churches are helping the Church of England to understand how we are all performing against the route map to Net Zero Carbon.

Completing the EFT has a huge impact, both on a church’s energy management and on the wider mission of the Church of England in its efforts to tackle climate change.

Beth Maclean, Carbon Net Zero Programme Manager, said: “This work is an essential part of caring for God’s creation.

“By submitting your EFT data, you are helping monitor progress toward a greener future and playing a part in the global effort to combat heating and climate change.

“So, take a moment to complete your EFT today – and be a part of making the Church of England a leader in sustainability!”

The EFT is open until Monday, June 30 and can be found on the online Parish Returns system here.
