The government’s Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme has now closed, and is no longer accepting new applications.
All awards within this year’s £23 million budget have now been allocated to applicants, and there will be no further funding rounds, as the Scheme is being replaced by the Places of Worship Renewal Fund.
Churches that are still awaiting a grant decision from the government should expect to hear the outcome of the application by no later than Wednesday, April 15.
If your church has building works currently ongoing and was intending to apply to the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme, please fill in our form here with some details so we can see what support we can offer.
The new Places of Worship Renewal Fund will have £92 million available for places of worship, but details of how the fund will operate in practice have not yet been fully released by the government.
The Places of Worship Renewal Fund will open to applications starting in 2026/27.
