Meaningful drama comes to new-look St Paul\'s, Ireland Wood

First published on: 20th May 2022

Dramatic stories of displaced children feature in the Riding Lights Theatre Company latest production entitled My Place, which comes to St Paul’s Ireland Wood next week.

The church, which now has excellent facillities for such events, will host the travelling company on Tuesday, May 24, in support of the Home for Good charity, which works to find a home for every child who needs one.

Both entertaining and thought-provoking,?My Place?follows the stories of four care-experienced individuals: a teenager, a pair of siblings and an unaccompanied child refugee.

They have different backgrounds and journeys, brought to life through a range of colourful story-telling techniques, including song and spoken word.

Each story highlights the need for all children and teenagers to have a safe, stable and loving home where they can thrive.

Revd Mark Harlow of St Paul’s said: "We are thrilled to be hosting this performance of 'My Place' by Riding Lights.

“Both to make use of the adaptability of our newly refurbished church space in ways that were not previously possible, and to support 'Home for Good' in challenging each of us to play our part in transforming the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
