BBC Any Questions? from Leeds Minster rated highly by its Rector

A live broadcast of BBC Radio 4's Any Questions? from the historic setting of Leeds Minster on Friday contained valuable debates, says its Rector, Canon Sam Corley.

"It was a joy to welcome Any Questions? to Leeds Minster on Friday," Sam said.

"The opportunity to ask questions of those in positions of influence and power is something we all too often take for granted.

"It is a precious freedom, to be stewarded well for our own sake's as well as on behalf of those to whom it is denied."

Chaired by Jonathan Dimbleby, the panelists reflected a range of political perspectives and featured:

Lord Eric Pickles, previously Leader of Bradford Council, Chairman of the Conservative Party, Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, Minster for Faith. Currently co-chair of the UK Holocaust Memorial Foundation.

Naz Shah MP (Shadow Equalities Minister), Labour MP for Bradford West since 2015.

Polly Toynbee Guardian Columnist journalist and broadcaster

Stewart Jackson (political commentator) former Conservative MP and Parliamentary Private Secretary to David Davies.
