Christian Aid Week goes digital

A virtual big breakfast is being cooked up at a Bradford church in support of Christian Aid Week.

Since 1957 the week has brought communities together in action and prayer and while the coronavirus pandemic means that Christian Aid Week, taking place on Sunday, May 10 to Saturday, May 16, will be different, churches across the diocese are being invited to stand in solidarity with the world’s most vulnerable people in new and innovative ways.

One of those churches is St John's Clayton, who are inviting people at the start of the week to take part in a Big Breakfast of any kind at home.

Congregation members are also encouraged to take a picture, which will be posted on the churches Facebook Page. Participants will then be asked to text the word EATEN to the churches designated number, donating five pounds towards the work of Christian Aid.

For other churches wishing to get involved, Christian Aid have provided a host of ideas and resources on their website to enable the church to help fundraise at home.
