Thy Kingdom Come 2021 begins

Christians across the world are being called to prayer, as Thy Kingdom Come 2021 begins.
Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement that started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England, and has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer.
Christians from multiple denominations across 172 countries have taken part, with all encouraged to pray in their own way.
During the 11 days of Thy Kingdom Come, it is hoped that everyone who takes part will deepen their own relationship with Jesus Christ, pray for five friends or family to come to faith in Jesus and pray for the empowerment of the Spirit that would be effective in our witness.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Justin Welby, said: “In praying 'Thy Kingdom Come' we all commit to playing our part in the renewal of the nations and the transformation of communities."

In our own diocese many churches are participating in Thy Kingdom Come.
For example, the Rt Revd Tony Robinson, Bishop of Wakefield, is participating in a 50-day challenge of sharing testimonies of those brought to God, which has also involved praying for the Wakefield area.
If your church is doing something special for Thy Kingdom Come, we’d love to hear about it- please email us at communciations@leeds.anglican.org.
