Are you good at “sitting and listening”?

Then think about becoming a chaplaincy visitor at your local hospitals.

Our Chaplaincy Visitors form an integral part of the holistic care given to patients in Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke’s Hospital

We are recruiting more volunteers  to join the Chaplaincy Service at Bradford. Come and join our multi faith team of chaplains and volunteer as we seek to provide  for people’s spiritual needs, to people of faith or none, while they are in hospital.  We are looking  for enthusiastic, caring team of volunteer visitors to help supplement our work in providing pastoral healthcare.

To be a volunteer you need to be aged 17 and over, and be able to give at least two to three hours every week to the hospital. All volunteers must undergo a training course, led by the hospital chaplains, before they can work on the Trust’s wards. This will equip you with skills and knowledge to

support to people in a variety of different situations that might occur during their hospital stay e.g. listening skills; understanding religion and spirituality from different faiths, and an introduction to providing bereavement support.

Any one interested in becoming a chaplaincy volunteer, should contact Dawn Arnison on 01274-365819 or emaildawn.arnison@bthft.nhs.uk.  The cut off for applications is Friday 22 July 2016
