New virtual youth pilgrimages from our cathedrals

Young people from across the diocese will be embarking on digital journeys with our cathedrals this autumn, as we prepare to run our Virtual Youth Pilgrimage.

Three themes will be explored at virtual pilgrimages run by each of our cathedrals, helping primary- and secondary-school aged children to engage with the work they are doing to serve their local areas.

Bradford Cathedral will be looking at the Gifts You Bring, Ripon Cathedral will be exploring the concept of Sanctuary and Wakefield Cathedral will be taking us on a journey of Hope.

Liz Morton, Children, Young People and Families Team Leader, said: “It’s a privilege to be working on this project with staff from the three Cathedrals.

“Each virtual pilgrimage offers a unique opportunity for children, young people and families to journey in creative and inspiring ways to explore both the Cathedrals and their chosen themes.

“We’ll be sharing further details closer to the launch date, and right now we’d love people to start to think about how they might be able to encourage children, young people and families in parishes to engage with these opportunities in the autumn.”

The Pilgrimages will be live from October 18 2021.
