A diocese-wide service for clergy and lay to renew their promise to follow and serve Christ and for the blessing of oils used in the coming year., Head verger ironing, Steward practising curtsey, Stewards spring into action as the congregation starts to arrive from across the diocese., Chrism oils used for baptism and healing, The Dean welcomes everyone, All our bishops process in to the service, Bishop Nick explaining how ministry flows from discipleship, The Bishops renew their commitment to ministry, The clergy renew their commitment to ministry, The entire congregation renews its commitment to serve as disciples of Christ, Sharing the peace, The Bishop of Leeds blesses the oil for the anointing of the sick and dying, A deacon presents the oil to be used in baptism, The Bishop of Leeds pours balsam (perfume) into the oil of Chrism (anointing), The service concludes with worship and singing, A queue forms as parish representatives and clergy collect a supply of the oils they will need in the coming year.
