Planting Curate - St Peter's Bramley

St Peter's is a Church of England parish church in the Bramley area of Leeds. We are centrally located in the heart of Bramey, close to the local shopping centre and CofE primary school.

In October 2022, St Peter’s began the grafting process, welcoming 15 people from St George’s Church, a designated ‘Resource Church’ in the city centre, and a new Rector, to support the evolving church in a new chapter with a focus on mission and growth.

In January 2023 we launched our vision to be ‘revealing God’s love in Bramley.’ Our website gives a good snapshot of what is going on: www.stpetersbramley.org.uk.  We have already seen growth and our average Sunday attendance is now around 50 adults and 10 children/young people. We have also launched a new midweek family based service called ‘Bramley’s Families’ with about 10 families engaging each week. We are continuing to build connections with the Bramley St Peter’s Primary School and are building connections with the community through regular family based ‘pop-up’ events.

We are looking for a curate to join our growing team of staff and volunteers with a passion for church revitalization, discipleship and growth. The curate would have the opportunity to exercise and develop their leadership skills in a variety of areas of church life and parish ministry. There is a clear expectation (from the Diocese of Leeds) that the curate at St Peter’s will lead a local church plant at the end of their curacy.  Being a planting curate is exciting and demanding. We are looking for someone with vision, energy, gifts, and some relevant experience, to invest in and release – in order to build up the kingdom of God in Leeds.
