St Edmund’s is set in Roundhay, a northern suburb of Leeds, only 15 minutes from the city centre. We enjoy easy access to the Yorkshire Dales and beyond.
It is a mainly residential area of owner-occupied housing with a profile of predominantly well-educated middle-class professionals who enjoy a good standard of living. However, the parish also includes pockets of high social deprivation.
We are seeking a new vicar who is:
➢ Someone of deep personal faith who will challenge and inspire us to grow in our own faith through stimulating preaching and interpretation of the bible.
➢ experienced, dynamic and innovative, who will train curates and work collaboratively with them and with the licensed lay readers and retired clergy already in place.
➢ prepared to delegate and to empower individuals, encouraging the skills of all congregation members and where needed, bring healing.
➢ enthusiastic, energetic and able to cope with the demands of a diverse parish.
➢ willing to develop the variety of worship services we currently enjoy including different music styles, whilst being sensitive to the wide range of churchmanship amongst our current congregation.
➢ a person with a pastoral heart: empathetic, discerning, supportive and caring.
➢ a good listener, wanting to work with all ages.
